Malaysia Shines Bright at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025
Clazroom Students Win Gold, Bronze & Best of Nation in 3D Digital Game Art

MANILA, 2025 — Malaysia’s historic debut in the 3D Digital Game Art category at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 has marked a proud milestone for the nation and Clazroom College.
Lam Kar Chun, trained by Clazroom College, claimed the Gold Medal and was named Best of Nation, having achieved the highest score among all Malaysian competitors across all skill categories.
Alongside him, fellow Clazroom student Goh Yi Jie brought home the Bronze Medal, making it a dual triumph that showcased the exceptional talent, preparation, and spirit of Malaysia’s creative youth on the regional stage.
This exceptional performance earned Lam Kar Chun the prestigious Malaysia’s Best of Nation Award—a historic first for the 3D Digital Game Art category. This result not only celebrates his outstanding individual achievement but also highlights Malaysia’s rising potential in the field on its debut at WorldSkills.

A Journey Fueled by Grit and Mentorship
Kar Chun, who previously won first place in the national competition and was selected to represent Malaysia, reflected on the pressure he carried:
Yi Jie, who earned his place as Malaysia’s second runner-up nationally, shared:
As the final seconds ticked down to 0:00 on the last day, Kar Chun said: “It felt like the rocks on my shoulders were lifted. It went smoother than I imagined.” Yi Jie added: “There are areas I know I could improve, but I’m so happy that I completed it.”

From Struggles to Success
Just one month before the competition, both students faced humbling challenges during a friendly match in Shanghai supported by JPK(Ministry of Human Resources). They realized the level of global competition — and that they were not ready. That moment ignited a deeper commitment: they returned, extended their training, and gave everything they had.
Thanks to the unwavering support from Clazroom College, including Principal Wong Jin Min, Director Tung Yan Ning, Expert Lee Mun How and Coach Khai Hung, the team underwent daily review sessions, including after-hours war-room debriefs to refine every detail.
We are also deeply grateful for the guidance and collaboration from our industry partners, including Passion Republic and TenTen Studio, who played a crucial role in pushing the students to new heights.
Powered by Industry Leaders
A special thanks goes to MSI, who sponsored both students with their latest high-performance Crosshair 16HX AI D2XW gaming laptops, and XP-PEN, equipping them with speed, power, and stability throughout their training and preparation journey.
A Win Beyond Medals
This victory not only highlights the exceptional talent in Malaysia’s creative sector — it also boosts national confidence in our ability to stand on the world stage in 3D Digital Game Art and creative digital skills. It also represents the power of collaboration: between government (JPK), industry partners, and education institutions like Clazroom College — all working hand in hand to nurture and elevate the next generation of talent.
This is not just a win for our students — it’s a win for Malaysia.
Clazroom College is honored to be part of this breakthrough. With the right vision, training, and industry-aligned education, we believe Malaysia will continue to inspire, lead, and shine across ASEAN and beyond.
Malaysia didn’t just compete. We led. We inspired. We made history.
And we’re just getting started.
