Lam Kar Chun, a 20-year-old digital art student from Claz’room College, has made history—winning GOLD in 3D Digital Game Art at WorldSkills Asia 2025, held at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei.
This is Malaysia’s first-ever attempt in this category at the Asia level. We didn’t just participate — we rose straight to gold.

Before reaching the Asia stage, Kar Chun advanced from ASEAN regionally against strong teams from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
In the finals, he stood among elite contenders from Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and even a guest team from the United Kingdom — and still, Malaysia emerged at the top.
Guided by WorldSkills Expert Mark Lee Mun How and Coach Chew Khai Hung, Lam Kar Chun faced one of the most intense challenges of his career — a three-day, 18-hour competition that tested every aspect of his skill and composure. With no internet access or external references allowed, he relied entirely on his training, creativity, and razor-sharp focus. His unwavering discipline and execution not only impressed the international judging panel but also earned Malaysia the highest honor on the podium.
