The Making of “Ghost Kart” Game Assets Modeling

“Ghost Kart” is a racing kart game developed by Clazroom Game Design Course. In this article, what we going to show you is the sneak peek of the game asset modelling for this particular game – from the raw sketches to 3D Modelling. You will see that all the characters will have their own distinct racing kart design.

The Frankenstein – starting from the sketch ideas along with the key color planning, progressed into modelling progress handling the retopology, UV and textures planning. The character and kart modelling produced in the project was above our expectation and it is awesome.

The Mummy Boy – starting from the sketch ideas along with the key colour planning, progressed into modelling progress handling the retopology, UV and textures planning. You may check it out the great details of the character and kart as well.

Besides the characters modelling, props modelling plays an important part in the game where we need to build a lot of props to complete the environment in the game as a part on the racing track. It is one of the component for the environment modelling as well.

As you can see in the above images, part of the props modelling we designed will be used to compare to the 3D modeling outcome from the concept art we sketch from time to time.

Personally, 3D Modelling is relatively interesting, especially when it comes to Game Assets Modelling. Like an adventure, 3D Modelling have a lot of things we can learn from in the process of creating the game. By the sounds of it, the making of a game involved a lot of complicated processes. Well don’t worry, we will update the progress of “The Making of Ghost Kart” – a project initiated and done by Clazroom Game Design Course.

You may not have the technique to build a 3D model yet, however after reading this article you have learn some processes behind the production of the game. Coming out in the next article there will be more information you might want to know on How to Build a Game. Stay tuned until then.

Did you know, you can learn all these techniques and the art of 3D modelling at Clazroom College?
