ArtsInk and Prosperity: Chinese New Year Calligraphy Event
Chinese New Year is an auspicious occasion that marks the start of new beginnings, and it is also a time to express appreciation for the past while reflecting on it. To commemorate this special occasion, Claz’room College organised a calligraphy event that allowed our students to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and art.
The art of calligraphy is a treasured tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation, allowing us to embrace the cultural heritage of our ancestors. We firmly believe that learning about other cultures is not only informative but also helps foster a sense of unity among people.
The event had a great response, with a large turnout of enthusiastic students eager to celebrate Chinese New Year through the medium of art. Each student was given Red Xuan papers to unleash their creativity by drawing or writing whatever they wanted. It was great to see how they put their own unique spin on this ancient art form, which made for a captivating display of individual expression. Once they had completed their artwork, they presented it at the counter and received mandarin oranges and Ang Pow packets in exchange. It was heartwarming to witness the joy and excitement on their faces as they collected their rewards.
